Giving Back Through Design: Abundant Grace Website Redesign

As a designer, I believe in the power of design to make a difference. That’s why I dedicate 20% of my work to pro bono projects that support organizations creating meaningful change in their communities. One of my recent projects was a complete website redesign for Abundant Grace Coastside Worker, a nonprofit in Half Moon Bay, CA, that provides job training and employment opportunities to individuals experiencing homelessness.

A Mission That Matters

Abundant Grace does incredible work, offering dignified jobs through farm and environmental restoration programs, helping people transition out of homelessness while building a stronger, more sustainable community. Their old website, however, didn’t effectively communicate their mission or engage potential donors and volunteers. They needed a fresh, modern site that was easy to navigate, visually compelling, and capable of driving engagement.

The Redesign Process

My goal with this redesign was to create a website that reflects the warmth, dedication, and impact of Abundant Grace. Here’s how I approached it:

  • Improved User Experience: The new design prioritizes clear navigation, making it easy for visitors to learn about programs, volunteer opportunities, and ways to donate.

  • Stronger Visual Identity: I incorporated bold, inviting imagery and a cohesive color palette that aligns with their mission.

  • Mobile Responsiveness: The site is now fully optimized for mobile users, ensuring accessibility across all devices.

  • Streamlined Donation Process: A simplified donation page encourages contributions, supporting Abundant Grace’s essential work.

The Impact

The redesigned website now serves as a powerful tool to connect with the community, attract supporters, and amplify the organization’s impact. It was an honor to contribute my skills to a cause that truly makes a difference.
