Highlighting My Latest Project: Black Tartan Studios Website Redesign
As a web designer, I love collaborating with innovative companies to bring their digital presence to life. It’s not often that an Emmy award-winning production company approaches you for help, so it was a true honor to work with Heather Greer and her team at Black Tartan Studios. My latest project was an exciting website redesign for their boutique creative agency. Specializing in short-form nonfiction storytelling, Black Tartan Studios partners with organizations whose mission embodies transformation. With a client roster that includes Google, Lupus Research Alliance, and Hospital for Special Surgery, they are known for their expertise in commercial production, digital marketing, brand films, and post-production services.
The Challenge: Upgrading from Squarespace 7.0 to 7.1
Black Tartan Studios had a strong visual identity but needed an upgraded website to match the high quality of their work. Their existing Squarespace 7.0 site lacked the flexibility and modern features required to showcase their stunning video content effectively. My goal was to migrate their site to Squarespace 7.1 while enhancing functionality and aesthetics.

The Transformation: A Dynamic Video Header & Enhanced Features
One of the most exciting elements of this project was implementing a gorgeous video header that stretches across the top of the homepage. For a creative agency that specializes in video storytelling, this feature was a game-changer—it immediately immerses visitors in the cinematic experience that defines Black Tartan Studios. This seamless integration of high-quality video content elevates the user experience and sets the tone for the entire site.
Beyond the video header, I also introduced a range of new features, including:
A cleaner, more intuitive navigation system
Optimized layouts for mobile responsiveness
Enhanced portfolio pages to highlight their award-winning work
Improved site performance and faster loading times
